What is the difference between CPL and ATPL pilot license? Which is better?
Let’s answer your question in easy way by not going into the deep because otherwise it become too long.
CPL is like Class 10th and ATPL is like Class 12.
Without having CPL You can’t get ATPL , Except For IAF Pilot who already have a flying Experience they can get directly ATPL by doing some hours of flying on Civil aircraft and also need to pass RTR(A), NAV , MET , Tech AND REGS.
C.P.L(Commercial Pilot License) is the professional pilot license issued by DGCA in INDIA.
TO OBTAIN A CPL YOU NEED TO PASS DGCA (including NAV , MET REGS , TECH AND Specific of Single Engine and Multi Engine (M.E))& RTR(A)EXAMS & 2OO HRS OF FLYING , & 20 hrs of Simulator (Minimum age to obtain CPL is 18)
This 200 Means (100 hrs PIC which includes 50 hrs of LOCAL PIC , 14 X country Flight and 300 nm X Country, 250nm x country , 120 nm x country by night , GFT by Day and GFT by night , IFT etc )
There is different options available for example 1. C.P.L with Single Engine Only without Instrument Rating(I.R) (No One adopt this) .
2. CPL with I.R (Some students) 3. C.P.L with M.E & I.R .(Maximum people adopt)
CPL is the Minimum requirement to become a commercial pilot with any Airline.
IT is advised before joining any flying club for CPL you must complete your DGCA paper also know as ground class …
To Give Paper’s of CPL you need computer number , you can get your computer number and for more information by just click.
CPL looks like this see the image below ….
A.T.P.L(Airline Transportation Pilot License)
TO Obtain A.T.P.L you need to have 1500 hrs of Experience including (500 hrs of PIC etc ) (Minimum 21 is the age to obtain ).
Required to be a Captain or Senior First officer.
Frozen A.T.P.L
Means you have the CPL & you passed the ATPL paper’s but you don’t have the 1500 hours of flying Experience so in that case it is know as a Frozen ATPL.
So Once you got into the airlines and you completed 1500 hrs you can convert your CPL into ATPL.
